AFCON Qualifier: Super Eagles Beat Guinea Bissau, Top Table

 

Nigeria’s Super Eagles rebounded from a weekend defeat to beat Guinea Bissau by a solitary goal in an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier away from home. Guinea Bissau stunned the Super Eagles in Abuja last Friday with a solitary goal, with the return leg scheduled for today.

The Nigerians, determined to make amends, put pressure on their hosts and dominated the game from start to finish, but poor finishing prevented them from scoring many goals.
