Alhaji Abba Yusuf, the Kano governor-elect has admonished his wellwishers and fellow NNPP members to forsake the idea of a “victory trip” for him and instead pray for the success of his incoming administration.

Sanusi Tofa, the NNPP Campaign Organization’s spokesperson said this in a statement on Wednesday in Kano.

Given the current state of unrest with banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism endangering the peaceful movement of people and goods across the length and breadth of the country, Yusuf claimed that the prayers are sufficient as a sign of solidarity and celebration of his victory at the polls on Saturday rather than the miles-long trek by some of his supporters in some areas.

In addition, Yusuf vowed to develop the state’s infrastructure and provide good welfare for the elderly, public employees, and the commercial sector, among others.

The new government in Kano State, he stated, “would be dedicated to a greater future for the people with security, health, education, economics, infrastructure, and good welfare for the elderly, civil servants, and private sector, among others.”

All hands must be on deck, according to Yusuf, to ensure that the NNPP’s and Kwankwasiyya’s vision for inclusive, responsive leadership in the state is realized.
