The Ilorin Emirate Football Council, under the leadership of Alhaji Abdulrazak Owolabi Agbaji (Wopa), has officially announced the date for the second edition of the Emir of Ilorin Football Championship Cup.
According to a statement released on October 5th, 2024, via their social media channels, the opening ceremony will take place on October 19th, 2024, at Queen Elizabeth College, Ilorin, starting at 3:00 PM.
In the statement, the organizers expressed their excitement about the event, with Owolabi revealing that over 24 teams are already confirmed to participate in the tournament. He added that more teams are expected to join as the championship draws nearer.
“This year’s edition will be even more colorful and special than the first,” Agbaji said. “There is great anticipation from people within and beyond Kwara State. We expect the presence of several football scouts, making this tournament an excellent opportunity for young talents to be discovered. There are many other exciting benefits in store for participants and spectators alike.”
