Lionel Messi’s World Cup final post on Instagram becomes the most-liked in history


Argentinian soccer phenomenon Lionel Messi may have recently won his first World Cup trophy, but now he can also add the record of owning the most-liked post on Instagram to his laurels.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Lionel Messi’s post on Instagram already had over 62 million likes, ending the previous record of an egg set in 2019.

Following the world cup triumph against France, the 36-year-old Argentine posted a gallery of his numerous pictures on Instagram. In his caption, he wrote, “CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD! We showed once more that when Argentinians work hard together and we’re united, we’re capable of achieving anything we put our minds to,” he added. “The merit of this group, which was above individualism, is the strength that we all fought for the same dream that was also the one for all Argentinians…we did it!!!”

Meanwhile, the image of an egg by Kylie Jenner currently holds 56 million likes.
