The Nigeria Premier Football League has increased the salaries of match officials in the top-flight.
There was a 50% raise in the referees’ pay.
Gbenga Elegbeleye, the head of the NPFL, declared an increase in match officials’ indemnities.
In the NPFL, the goal is to provide impartial and trustworthy officiating.
According to Elegbeleye, talks were still in progress to arrange air travel for the players and referees.
In Saturday’s first game of the new season, the defending champion Rangers and the EL-Kanemi Warriors will trade tackles.
