Senator Sadiq Umar Calls for Bold Solutions to Nigeria’s Security Woe

Senator Sadiq Umar of Kwara North addressed ongoing security challenges in Nigeria during the Senate plenary session on March 6, 2024.

Senator Umar emphasized the need for a strategic alignment of security personnel and architectures to effectively tackle the nation’s security issues.

He proposed an all-inclusive community-based approach, stating, “Communities and traditional institutions should be strengthened, empowered, and supported to make significant strides in the fight against insecurity.”

He furthered stressed the importance of actively involving affected communities, noting that repeated advocacy and financial efforts may not succeed without their active participation.

The call for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to security challenges resonates as the nation grapples with escalating concerns in various regions.
