13 Injured in Multiple Vehicle Crash on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A multiple vehicle crash on Sunday morning left 13 passengers injured on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The accident happened at about 4:55 am at Car Park C, in Ogun State, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed.

The FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, said 22 persons were involved in the crash, including 21 male adults and one female adult.

She added that the FRSC operatives responded swiftly to the scene and carried out rescue operations.

The vehicles involved in the crash were three trucks with number plates: KBT205XB, KJA230Y and DUT35XE, a Toyota Corolla car with registration number MUS793HM and a Toyota Hiace bus with plate number FG369-F20.

Okpe attributed the crash to road obstruction and speeding, which caused the drivers to lose control of their vehicles.

She said the injured passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the vehicles were towed away from the road to avoid further obstruction.

She advised motorists to drive with caution and obey traffic rules and regulations, especially during the festive season.
