Former Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, has come forward recently, on Instagram to address rumors of a rift between him and singer 2face Idibia.
Contrary to the longstanding narrative, Mikel recently clarifies that he never ignored 2face at a London club
Mikel expressed his admiration for 2Baba and emphasized that he wouldn’t have acted in such a manner given his respect for the artist.
The narrative surrounding the incident dates back to 2006, with claims that Mikel snubbed 2baba at a London club, prompting the release of 2baba’s 2010 hit track “Only Me.”
However, 2Baba later dispelled these rumors in a 2016 interview with Brila FM, asserting that no such incident occurred and that the song was not a diss track aimed at Mikel.
Although Mikel had not openly addressed the speculation until now, a recent Instagram post prompted a curious fan, xfranky22, to inquire about the alleged incident.
Underneath a video of Mikel enjoying music at home, the fan asked, “Did you truly snub 2face at a London club back in ’06?”
Mikel promptly responded to the question, stating, “No, I never did. I am a big fan of his. I wouldn’t engage in such behavior. Have a wonderful day.”
