56-Year-Old Ex-Boxer Punches Wife To Coma Over TV Remote Control In Ondo

In Akure, Ondo State, police have detained Moses Olapade (56), a former lightweight boxer, on suspicion of bashing his wife into a coma.

According to City & Crime, the event took place at No. 9 Odamo Street in the Oke-Aro neighborhood of Akure South LGA.

After arriving home from a trip, Olapade, who is now a truck driver, allegedly attacked his wife, Atinuke.

The suspect, an ex-boxer for Lagos State, allegedly requested the TV remote control from his wife Atinuke, 44, but she refused.

Mr. Olapade, who travels to the country’s north and returns every two weeks, attacked his wife and punched her many times in the face.

The lady had to be saved from her husband by neighbors after the kids fled outside yelling for assistance.

Under the condition of anonymity, one of the neighbors claimed they had to break into the residence to free the woman.

We had to bring her to the closest hospital after finding her comatose on the floor, he said.

The suspect was in their custody, according to Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the state police spokeswoman.
