95,000 Nigerian Pilgrims To Perform 2023 Hajj

This year’s Hajj rituals will be performed in Saudi Arabia by 95,000 Nigerian pilgrims in total.

32, 781 of the 95,000 have already been successfully transported to the holy land, while the remaining 85,000 are awaiting flights to the Kingdom in the different Hajj camps located across the nation.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is currently seeking partnership with a Saudi corporation and other pertinent organizations for pilgrims from African non-Arab countries in Makkah, Mutawwifs, in order to make the trip of 2023 a fitting one.

Alhaji Alidu Shutti, the NAHCON deputy Makkah coordinator, made the statement yesterday in Makkah during a business meeting with the organization, highlighting the necessity for both sides to further their collaboration in order to better serve the pilgrims, who are Allah’s guests.

He reaffirmed NAHCON’s preparedness to participate in any plan that will assist Nigerian pilgrims.

“The commission is more informed now than before the meeting and we will work on the outcome of the meeting for further consideration and necessary actions,” Shittu said.

Shittu praised the Mutawwifs in Makkah for their cooperation and the resources they used to make this year’s Hajj operation a big success.

Alhaji Abubakar Lamin, the Makkah liaison officer of NAHCON, urged the company to ensure that the Nigerian contingent at Masha’er receives special attention for tents and the provision of medical services. Dr. Usman Galadima, the chief operations of NAHCON’S medical team, urged the company to improve on their services to Nigerian pilgrims by deploying more ambulances for Masha’er compared to last year.

Dr. Galadima said, “Designated space for a medical clinic at 17 field offices and examination couch/bed and medicines supplied made our work easy at Masha’er.”

Ar-Rayyan Muglan, the vice president of the Mutawifs firm who oversaw the meeting, responded by assuring attendees that his organization was ready to work with NAHCON on anything that would improve the 2023 Hajj operation.

They had the excellent privilege and honor of serving Allah’s guests in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia thanks to their long-standing collaboration with the Nigerian Hajj Mission.
