Singer Portable Slams Adekunle Gold For Asking Him To Join A Challenge Instead Of Featuring Him
Nigerian singer Portable has expressed his displeasure with Adekunle Gold for inviting him to participate in a challenge for his new song, rather than offering him a collaboration.
Portable, who is known for his street anthem “Omo No Salary”, took to his Instagram page to share a screenshot of a chat he had with Adekunle Gold, where the latter asked him to drop a verse for his song “High” and join the challenge.
Portable, however, was not impressed by the request and replied sarcastically, “Challenge ko, featuring ni” which means “It’s not a challenge, it’s a feature”.
He also captioned the post with “Abeg make una help me tell this guy say I no dey do challenge, na featuring I dey do. If you like my voice, feature me. No dey use me do challenge. Na beg I dey beg o.”
The post has since gone viral and sparked mixed reactions from fans and fellow artists. Some praised Portable for standing up for himself and demanding respect, while others criticized him for being rude and ungrateful to Adekunle Gold, who is a more established and successful singer.
Adekunle Gold has not responded to the post as of the time of filing this report.
