Tragic Accident Claims Life of Businessman In Rivers
Port Harcourt, Rivers State – In a devastating incident, businessman Akuma Kalu lost his life when a 40ft container fell onto his car in the Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State. The unfortunate accident occurred on Thursday, October 12, 2023, as Kalu was en route to the Port Harcourt International Airport to catch a flight.
According to reports, Kalu’s vehicle was trapped at a treacherous section of the Etche-Ngo Okpala road when the container dislodged from a truck and tragically crushed him. The impact was fatal, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
Kalu, originally from Abariba in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, was an established importer based in Umuogele Ovom, near Magic FM. He was also an active member of the Umuogele Landlords Association in Aba, Abia State.
Family members have expressed their grief on social media platforms. His elder brother, Uchendu Kalu, shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook:
“Dad, today marks 5 years and 10 months since you left me in this lonely, wicked world. Death has struck again and taken away your youngest son, Akuma. What have I done to deserve this? Dad, I will always be your son. Rest in peace, Ezinna m; rest in peace, Nwoke udo; rest in peace, my one and only father; rest in peace, little bro; rest in peace, Dimkpa; rest in peace, Odogwu.”
The loss of Akuma Kalu has left a void that resonates deeply within his family and community. As they grapple with this tragedy, their hearts bleed for the departed soul.
