Federal Government Commits to Clearing N-Power Beneficiaries’ Backlog Payments Starting November

The federal government has confirmed that N-Power beneficiaries will begin receiving their overdue entitlements starting in November.

This announcement was made by Akindele Egbuwalo, the National Programme Manager of N-Power, during a meeting with beneficiaries in Abuja.

However, he mentioned that the payments will be distributed in installments.

This development was officially stated in a release issued in Abuja on October 16 by Jamaluddeen Kabir, the National Communication Manager of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

Egbuwalo also disclosed that the N-Power program has been rebranded as the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP).

The statement reads, “Following the temporary suspension of the program for thorough restructuring and a forensic audit, funds have been reclaimed from the existing payment service providers.

The program has established plans to start disbursing the outstanding stipends for 9 months to beneficiaries starting in November 2023. These payments will be made in multiple installments.”

In addition to the program’s renaming, Egbuwalo announced that 1 million youths will be absorbed annually to meet the expanded target of 5 million beneficiaries.

He stated, “In alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s new agenda, the N-Power program will continue as the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP), overseen by the Honourable Minister, Dr. Betta Edu.

The program’s scope will be expanded to include 5 million beneficiaries over 5 years, with 1 million youths being incorporated each year through both graduate and non-graduate streams.”
