Women of the All Progressives Congress have come together to raise awareness for fellow Nigerian women to join forces with them and ensure Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is made Nigeria’s next president.

The women made this appeal at a rally held at. U J. Esuene stadium in Calabar, the Cross River State’s capital.

Speaking at the event, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women’s national leader, Dr. Betta Edu encouraged women of the south-south geo-political zone to join others nationwide and mobilize 40 million votes for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, at the 2023 polls.

Dr. Edu urged the women to be faithful to Asiwaju’s bid and guaranteed that he will listen to their voices and make them proud Nigerians if elected President.

In her address, the chief host of the South-south APC women rally, Dr. Linda Ayade, voiced her delight with the massive turnout of women from Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, and Rivers states as well as the 18 local government areas of Cross River to support the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Dr. Ayade further urged the women, especially those who have not collected their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to do so immediately. She reminded the women that the PVC was their only route to exercise their power and vote in the 2023 general election.

The senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was also at the event commended the south-south APC women for their presence and overwhelming support for the Tinubu-Shettima candidacy.

She restated the promise of the APC presidential candidate to support women to attain elective and appointive political positions beyond the 35 per cent affirmative action. She also assured that the Tinubu-led administration will also create a more viable economic environment for women in business to thrive.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion include Aisha Buhari who was represented by her daughter, Zara, the governor Professor Ben Ayade; the APC governorship candidate, Prince Bassey Otu, the Cross River State party chairman, Dr. Alphonsus Eba, and Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, a frontline party stalwart.
