Angry Parent Beats Teacher To Death In Delta State

A secondary school teacher in Delta State has lost his life after being assaulted by an angry parent over the punishment of a student.

The incident happened on Wednesday at Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.

According to a source, some students of the school had sneaked out to steal and drink palm wine from a nearby farm. The owner of the farm reported the matter to the school authority, who identified and flogged the students as a corrective measure.

However, one of the students was not happy with the flogging and informed his father, who then called and threatened the teacher responsible.

The father, whose name was not disclosed, later stormed the school and confronted the teacher, identified as Sunday Onyisi Ufah. He reportedly flogged Ufah with a stick until he collapsed.

Ufah was rushed to Agbor Central Hospital, but was confirmed dead on arrival.

Ufah was a physics teacher and a child evangelist who had been teaching and mentoring children for many years.

The police spokesperson in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and said that the suspect had been arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
