Police Arrest School Owner In Delta For Allegedly Raping 4-year-old Girl

A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the owner of her school in Agbor-Obi, Delta State, according to the police. The suspect, who is also the principal of Great Leaders International School, reportedly used scissors to injure the girl’s genitals before assaulting her.

The girl’s mother noticed blood clots coming from her daughter’s vagina when she returned from school and complained of pain. She then reported the incident to the police, who arrested the suspect.

However, the suspect denied raping the girl and his lawyer tried to persuade the mother to settle the matter out of court. The police said they were investigating the case and would ensure that justice was served.

The case was brought to public attention by an X (formerly Twitter) user, Rich Aunty Amina (@EverythingMai_), who posted about the alleged rape and demanded action from the authorities. The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, initially said he was not aware of the case, but later confirmed it after contacting the Area Commander in Agbor.

Edafe apologized to Amina for misunderstanding her post and said they were both fighting for the same cause. He also urged the public to avoid settlement in such cases, as it would make prosecution difficult. He said the case was being handled by the Area Commander and not the Division.

Calls made to the school for comments were not answered.
