Mohbad: Naira Marley Sues Iyabo Ojo, Demands N500 Million In Damages
Popular singer and rapper, Naira Marley, whose real name is Afeez Fashola, has filed a lawsuit against actress Iyabo Ojo, demanding N500 million in damages and a public apology for allegedly spreading false and malicious information about him on her Instagram page.
According to the letter sent by his lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, the actress had accused Naira Marley of having spiritual and physical relations with the late singer, Mohbad, and of causing him mental harm. The letter also claimed that the actress had implied that Naira Marley was a drug addict and that he had drugged the boys staying with him, leading to their ruin.
The letter stated that the post, which was made in September 2023, had tarnished Naira Marley’s reputation and had exposed him to public ridicule and contempt. It also said that Naira Marley, who is an internationally renowned artist with over seven million followers, had been engaged by the NDLEA to use his platforms to discourage substance abuse among Nigerian youths.
The letter demanded that the actress should post an apology on her Instagram page and in a national daily within seven days, or face legal action.
