Fame Is A Crazy Punishment For Celebrity, Rapper Blaqbonez Asserts

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, born Emeka Akumefule, recently opened up about the challenges of fame, describing it as a “crazy punishment” for celebrities.

Blaqbonez made the statement during an interview on the Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast hosted by Joey Akan, the ‘Like Ice Spice’ artist lamented that despite having less wealth, ordinary individuals can lead a more relaxed life compared to celebrities.

He emphasized the unique stress celebrities face, citing instances where even in traffic, the attention shifts to them rather than wealthier but less-known individuals.

He, however, expressed frustration about the inability to enjoy simple activities in public places without being constantly recognized and approached.

The rapper further pointed out that while normal people with substantial wealth can blend into crowds unnoticed, he is always under the spotlight, unable to experience the same level of freedom.

In his candid remarks, Blaqbonez highlighted the challenges of going out in Nigeria, where he feels compelled to be in ‘celebrity mode’ at all times.

The rapper painted fame as a restricting force, preventing him from engaging in regular activities without the scrutiny that comes with being a public figure.

The rapper’s perspective sheds light on the often-overlooked downsides of fame and the sacrifices celebrities make in their pursuit of success.
