Pasuma, Portable Attend Church Praise Night Despite Public Outcry
Two popular Fuji singers, Pasuma and Portable, have caused a stir by attending a praise night event at the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos State, despite being banned by the church authorities.
The event, which took place on Friday, December 15, 2023, was marred by controversy after a flyer advertising the singers’ participation went viral on social media, sparking backlash from some church members and the public.
The Shepherd-in-charge of the church, Olatosho Oshoffa, had issued a statement on his Facebook page, announcing that the singers would not be part of the event, following consultations with the parish hosting the event. He apologized to the Celestians and assured them that the posters would be amended.
However, a video posted by Osun Defender showed that the singers defied the church’s directive and showed up at the event, where they were seen chatting with each other. The video has generated mixed reactions from the viewers, with some condemning the singers for disrespecting the church, and others supporting them for expressing their faith.
The church has not yet commented on the incident, but it is expected that they will take appropriate actions to address the issue and prevent further scandals.
