Lagos, Nigeria – As the year 2023 came to a close, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie and his estranged wife May Edochie took to social media to share their contrasting views on the past 12 months.

However, May, who was married to Yul for 18 years and had four children with him, had a starkly different perspective on the year. She shared a lengthy post on her own Instagram page, revealing the pain and sorrow she experienced throughout the year.
May described 2023 as the year that “stole [her] own flesh and blood,” referring to the death of her son, who was driving with Yul when their car collided with a truck. She also lamented the dissolution of her marriage, which she said was “the most painful thing [she] ever had to endure.”
“Dear 2023, you were pregnant on the very first day of Jan unknown to anyone what you would deliver. You dealt with me in the most catastrophic ways… Too many adversities and misfortunes,” May wrote.
May also accused Yul of being insensitive and selfish, saying that he abandoned her and their children in their time of need. She said that she felt betrayed and humiliated by his actions, and that she was still struggling to cope with the reality of her situation.
May concluded her post by asking God to heal her wounds and restore her joy, as she prayed for a better year ahead.
