Kwara PDP’s Claims on Diversion of FG Rice Intervention Debunked by Rep. Hon. Mohammed Omar Bio

Mohammed Bio Omar, the Federal Representative representing the Baruten/Kaima constituency in the 10th National Assembly has responded to recent allegations made by the Kwara PDP’s State Publicity Secretary, Olushola Adewara Sholyment today 7th of January 2024.

Mohammed Omar categorically denies receiving any palliative support from the Federal Government. The office emphasizes that claims suggesting otherwise are baseless and unfounded.

Clarifications on the Procurement Process:

The office further clarifies that while food palliatives were promised for each Federal constituency, the procurement process is yet to be completed, and as of now, neither Hon. Bio nor his constituency office has received any support.

The scheme, falling under the core mandate of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, is still in progress.

Bill of Quantities (BoQs) Status:

The Bill of Quantities (BoQs) for the scheme has not been issued to contractors at the time of this response. The office dismisses any claims suggesting that funds have been disbursed or misused, emphasizing the lack of evidence to support such allegations.

Governorship Aspirant’s Video Misleading:

The mention of a video featuring Hon. Dekeri from Edo State is addressed, with the office asserting that it was taken out of context.

The intention behind the video was linked to Hon. Dekeri’s governorship ambition, not to validate claims of selective distribution of food palliatives to specific members of the House of Representatives.

Call for Evidence and Comparative Analysis:

The office questions the Kwara PDP’s failure to present evidence of palliatives from PDP lawmakers nationwide, including neighboring PDP-controlled states like Osun and Oyo.

This raises concerns about the credibility of the allegations and highlights the need for a comprehensive examination of the situation.

Commitment to Transparency:

In conclusion, the Constituency Office reaffirms its commitment to transparency and accountability, emphasizing Hon. Bio’s dedication to serving constituents with integrity and prioritizing their welfare.
