Tiwa savage vs Davido: War of Words Escalates to Police Involvement

Renowned Nigerian artist, Tiwa Savage, has taken legal action against fellow musician Davido, filing a formal complaint with the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command.

The complaint alleges threats of assault and grievous bodily harm following a social media dispute between the two artists.

According to Savage’s letter to the police, the issue began on December 23rd when she shared an Instagram Story featuring herself and Sophia Momodu.

Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, reportedly responded with disrespectful and derogatory messages, accusing Savage of taunting him.

Savage claims that the incident has escalated beyond social media, with mutual connections receiving warnings from Davido to advise her to “be careful in Lagos” as he allegedly threatened to harm her.

The singer perceives these actions as both online and offline harassment, affecting not only her but also her team members.

In the formal complaint, Tiwa Savage cites violations of her constitutional rights to life, privacy, and dignity, as well as contraventions of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015. She attaches screenshot images of the alleged exchange with Davido as supporting evidence.

Tiwa Savage concludes the letter by expressing concern for her safety and the safety of her family, urging the Nigerian Police Force to hold Davido accountable in case of any untoward incident. The police are expected to conduct an investigation into the matter.

As the music industry watches this legal dispute unfold, both fans and industry insiders are eager to see how the authorities will handle the situation and whether there will be any legal repercussions for Davido.
