Tragic End: Mother Kills Herself and Two Kids After Quarrel With Husband
A Zimbabwean woman, identified as Amina, 31, committed suicide and murdered her two children, a son aged 10 and a daughter aged 5, after a heated argument with her husband.
According to sources, Amina poisoned her two kids and herself by feeding them yoghurt laced with rat poison. She also consumed the poisoned yoghurt and died shortly after.
Their bodies were discovered in their rented room by neighbours who alerted the police.
Amina left behind two notes, one addressed to her husband, in which she blamed him for her death and the children’s. She accused him of being abusive and neglectful, and said she could not bear the pain anymore.
The second note was to her family, where she apologised for her actions but said she was tired of life and the constant fights with her husband. She asked for their forgiveness and expressed her love for them.
“I love you all,” was her last post on her WhatsApp status before she took the drastic step.
The incident has shocked and saddened the community, who described Amina as a friendly and cheerful person. They said they did not notice any signs of trouble in her marriage, and wondered what could have pushed her to such a desperate act.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter, and are looking for Amina’s husband, who is said to have fled the scene after the quarrel. He is wanted for questioning and possible prosecution.
