HEARTLESS: Yahoo Boy Caught Trying To Use His Girlfriend For Ritual In Ogun State
A shocking video has emerged online showing how a young man, who is an internet fraudster popularly known as Yahoo boy, was caught red-handed while trying to use his girlfriend for a money ritual in Agbara, Ogun State.
The suspect, identified as Ifeanyi Kanu, confessed that he met his girlfriend, Mmesoma, on Facebook in 2020 and lured her into a romantic relationship with the intention of using her for a ritual.
He said he initially planned to kidnap her and demand ransom from her family, but later changed his mind and decided to use her for a money ritual instead.
He said he took her to a shrine where he was supposed to sacrifice a cow, but he offered a ram instead, hoping that it would work. However, he said the ritual failed to yield the expected result and he was pressured by a secret cult that he belonged to, to provide a human sacrifice.
He said he and his accomplice invited Mmesoma to their house, where they planned to tie her up and kill her for the ritual. However, their evil plot was exposed by a neighbor who heard Mmesoma’s screams and alerted the police.
The police stormed the house and arrested the suspects, while rescuing Mmesoma who was traumatized by the ordeal.
The police said they recovered some items from the house, including charms, candles, knives, and a blood-stained cloth.
The police said the suspects would be charged to court for attempted murder and other related offences.
The police also warned the public to be careful of who they interact with online, as some people may have ulterior motives.
