Nigerian Content Creators To Monetize Instagram and Facebook- Meta

President, Global Affairs Meta Inc, Nick Clegg, has announced plans to empower Nigerian creators with new monetisation tools on Instagram and Facebook.

He stated this in a video shared on the X handle of Arise News, on Thursday, March 21.

Clegg said in part: “Enhance connectivity, the connections without the infrastructures people can use this technology, which is why we have invested so much in by far the world’s most powerful and extensive cable to Africa with two landing cable in Nigeria.

“It’s not just about cables, it’s also about people. You have to make sure that people understand how to use digital tools, how to enhance digital literacy, how to enhance particularly the use of our tools by small businesses.

“Many of small businesses in Nigeria use our apps and our platforms to reach their customers, that is why we have digital literacy and digital economic programmes which reached hundreds of thousand of people across Nigeria, and we need to continue to do that.

“Also we need to make it easier for people to earn a living.

” If they’re a creator and they are posting video and contents which people enjoy and consume on Instagram and Facebook, we need to provide them with tools so they can monetise them, they can earn a living.

“And that is exactly what I was explaining to the president and his team we will be doing in weeks, months ahead. New tools will become available to creators in Nigeria between now and the summer.”
