Senator Lola Ashiru Kickstarts Farmer Empowerment Drive in Kwara South

 

The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial district, Senator Oyelola Ashiru, has initiated a comprehensive empowerment program for farmers in the district.

The initiative aims to provide essential agricultural farming equipment to enhance soil fertility and improve crop yields. Senator Ashiru, driven by his vision to foster self-reliance and sustainability through agriculture, has allocated multi-million naira worth of agricultural palliatives for distribution to eligible farmers in Kwara South.

The empowerment program will kick off with the distribution of fertilizers, urea, pesticides, and herbicides to verified farmers across the district.

Additionally, hunters, farmers’ associations, and individuals engaged in farming activities will also benefit from the initiative.

Acknowledging the economic challenges faced by farmers, Senator Ashiru emphasized the importance of enhancing agricultural production to mitigate these struggles.

However, he assured constituents of his commitment to ensuring that every eligible farmer in Kwara South receives the necessary support for agricultural development.

All agricultural relief packages have been dispatched to every local government within the district, with the official distribution slated to commence on April 5, 2024.

Senator Ashiru reiterated his dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents, emphasizing his focus on economic progress, development initiatives, and enhanced security for the district.
