The Winners FC Agbor defender was claimed to have collapsed and died while training on the football pitch.
Sporting activities were held over the weekend in Agbor, the headquarters of Delta State’s Ika South Local Government Area, in memory of a grassroots footballer who died unexpectedly.
All efforts to revive the former KG Sports Agbor player (2019-2022) on the pitch were futile, as he was proclaimed dead upon arriving at the hospital.
According to an eyewitness, the player whose real name is yet to be ascertained was standing alone in defense when he suddenly slumped without any contact from anybody.
When contacted the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
