Tragic End to a Financial Dispute: Suspect Confesses to Murder of Sugar Mummy Over N100,000

In a chilling turn of events, the Delta State Police have apprehended a suspect in connection with the brutal murder of Glory Akpaku. The suspect, whose relationship with the victim soured over a financial disagreement, has given a harrowing account of the events leading to her death.

The confession, made public by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, reveals a tale of trust, betrayal, and desperation. The suspect, who considered the victim his sugar mummy, was embroiled in a dispute over N100,000 he had entrusted to her for safekeeping. Tensions escalated when Akpaku allegedly refused to return the money upon request.

According to the suspect’s account, a heated exchange ensued when he confronted Akpaku for the money, only to be told she would hand it over after her market visit. Threats were exchanged, with the suspect warning he would expose their relationship to her son, which was met with a counter-threat from Akpaku.

In a fit of rage, the suspect admits to stabbing Akpaku multiple times with a knife, a decision he now claims to regret, attributing his actions to the devil’s influence.

The Delta State Police have taken this opportunity to caution the public, emphasizing the importance of learning from such tragic incidents. Edafe’s statement serves as a sombre reminder of the consequences of letting anger and frustration take control.

As the investigation continues, the suspect awaits his day in court, with the incident set to be resolved legally in the coming days.
