Mukaray Pledges Ongoing Joy for Kwarans As Governor Razaq Sponsors Grand Ileya Groove

 

Kwara State Governor Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, through the office of the Senior Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism Muka Ray Eyiwunmi, sponsored a grand Ileya Groove event to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festivities.

The event, held at Kwara State Amusement Park in Ilorin, on today 16th of June, 2024 brought together thousands of residents, dignitaries, and visitors for a joyous occasion filled with cultural performances, feasting, and various entertainment activities.

The Ileya Groove event, a significant highlight of the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, aimed to foster unity and provide an avenue for communal enjoyment.

The governor’s sponsorship ensured that the event was accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to inclusivity and cultural heritage.

In an interview with the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Muka Ray Eyiwunmi, by Pristinegist Media Reporter Ajibare Oluwasegun, Eyiwunmi explained the objectives and challenges of the event:

What is the objective of the event and how will it contribute to the culture of Kwara State?

“I want our people in Kwara State to believe that in every festival, whether Christmas, New Year, Ileya, Itunu Awe, they should be happy as the Governor doesn’t like dull moments. We will continue to ensure that our people are happy and to showcase our culture, provide entertainment and meals, all of which will be free.”

What are the challenges faced during organizing the event?

“It’s not easy to organize events like this, but with the support of my team, we are grateful for the success of the event.”

What are the future plans your office has for Kwarans?

“With the grace of God, and as the Governor has said he won’t relent on making his people happy, the future will be bright. Special thanks to our amiable governor.”

The event featured an array of activities including traditional music and dance performances, a variety of local delicacies, and games for children.

However, the highlight of the event was a special appearance by renowned artist Hajia Aminat Obirere, who captivated the audience with an energetic performance.

Meanwhile, the governor took the opportunity to address pressing community issues, reiterating his administration’s dedication to improving living standards and promoting cultural activities.
