ILEYA FURY BOXING Tourney Revives Boxing Spirit In Kwara

The Kwara State Boxing Association has received high praise for organizing the ILEYA FURY BOXING tournament, an event aimed at revitalizing and advancing boxing in the state yesterday 19th of June 2024.

The commendation came from the Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako, who represented the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji.

Speaking after the tournament’s fifth edition held at the Handball Court within the stadium complex, Bako urged other sports associations to emulate the Boxing Association’s initiative by organizing similar events.

Bako highlighted the impressive display of talent at the tournament, expressing optimism about the state’s prospects for producing medal-winning boxers to represent Kwara at the upcoming National Youth Games and the Sports Festival.

He also commended Barrister Ahmed Musa Rufai Esq, Chairman of the Boxing Association, for his dedication to making the tournament an annual event and his commitment to youth development. Bako assured that the Commission and the state government would continue to support initiatives that foster sports development in Kwara.

In his remarks, Barrister Ahmed Musa Rufai Esq expressed gratitude to the Commission and the state government for creating a conducive environment for sports to flourish. He emphasized the association’s goal of discovering new talents and restoring the sport’s former glory in Kwara. Rufai also assured that next year’s tournament would be even more successful.
