Three Hybrid Electric Vehicles to Hit Nigerian Roads in Three Years

In a groundbreaking move, Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL) has announced plans to launch three electric vehicles in Nigeria within the next three years, aligning with the government’s green deal initiative. Managing Director Kunle Ade-Ojo revealed that the Toyota Cross, RAV4, and Land Cruiser Prado hybrid electric vehicles will be introduced to the Nigerian market, starting with the Toyota Cross by the end of this year.

This development marks a significant shift towards sustainable transportation in Nigeria, with TNL also supporting the Federal Government’s campaign for Compressed Natural Gas-powered vehicles through conversion. The exclusive Toyota Motor Show, held in Lekki, showcased the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, featuring vehicle displays, test drives, and interactive sessions.

With projections of 15,000 new vehicles to be sold in Nigeria this year, Toyota aims to double its sales performance. The introduction of electric vehicles is poised to revolutionize the Nigerian auto industry, setting a new standard for environmentally friendly transportation.
