SMUGGLER’S FUEL FRENZY!

Customs Seizes 36,875 Liters of Petrol Bound for Cameroon

In a daring move, the Adamawa/Taraba Area Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted a massive fuel smuggling operation, seizing 85 drums and 795 cans of petrol totaling 36,875 liters, destined for the Republic of Cameroon.

Comptroller Garba Bashir, Customs Area Controller, revealed that the seizures were made between June 29th and July 12th, with a total duty value of N36.9 million.

The smugglers’ tactics included using a car with a hidden compartment and concealing the petrol in a bush path at the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

Bashir attributed the smuggling surge to high demand in neighboring countries, vowing to intensify operations to combat smuggling and bring it to a complete halt.

This bold move by the NCS has sent a strong message to fuel smugglers, and the public is urged to support the fight against smuggling.
