Pele dies of colon cancer

 

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pele died of colon cancer on Thursday (Dec. 29) in a hospital in São Paulo at age 82.

According to the source, he had been battling colon cancer since September 2021 and was hospitalized in November.

News of his death was confirmed on his official Instagram page on the 29th of November 2022.

Pele was a skill full and multitalented footballer from Brazil. The world cannot forget, the two goals he scored in the final match against Sweden in the 1958 World Cup when he was just 17 years of age.

His funeral is scheduled to be at a stadium where he played some of the best football matches of his career, the Vila Belmiro Stadium, outside Sao Paulo.

However, Jair Bolsonaro, the outgoing president of Brazil has announced three days to mourn his death in the country.
