There is a possibility for New Minimum Wage Before May 2024, Federal Government

The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured Nigerian workers that there is going to be a motion for the increment of minimum wage before May 2024.

The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbayo, who was speaking as the special guest of honor at the 13th quadrennial delegates of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) held in Abuja, yesterday blamed the elites for always playing up the negative aspects of Nigeria’s diversity.

According to the Vice president, instead of blaming the masses, it is the elites that should learn to accept the reality that ethnicity and religion should no longer play key roles in the country’s affairs.

He, however, urged the workers not to be discouraged by the challenges they faced during struggles for their welfare and better opinions

Adding that in today’s world, no one could ignore the potency of people’s power.

The Nigeria Labour Congress,(NLC) expressed the fear that the country may likely be lured into crisis if the federal government fails to urgently address the economic and social disruptions caused by petrol and naira scarcity.

The NLC described the current issues in Nigeria as unbearable.
