INEC: Tinubu wins 2023 presidential election in Nigeria

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria today, 1st of March 2023.

Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman declared that the presidential candidate of the all progressive congress (APC) is the winner of the 2023 presidential election with the overall highest number of votes.

INEC chairman also said that the candidate of APC, Tinubu meets the constitutional requirement as he scored over 25 percent of the votes cast in 30 states.

He stated that Tinubu scored a total number of 8, 794726 votes as he won in 13 states.

Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the peoples democratic party (PDP) became second as he got a total number of 6, 984, 520 votes. He won in 11 states.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party came in third position as he has a total number of 6, 101, 533 votes and won in 12 states.

However, the NNPP candidate, known as Kwankwaso scored a total number of 1, 496,687 and won in only Kano State.
