A video has gone viral on social media that claims a ‘rain of worms’ has flooded China’s capital Beijing. If residents are to be believed, they are forced to carry umbrellas as a result of unusual ‘worm rains’.
The video of streets from Beijing shows cars splattered with worms. Meanwhile, there has been no comment from the Chinese authorities so far on the bizarre incident.
However, people on social media offered their theories about mysterious phenomena. Some say that the so-called worms could be flowers from poplar trees which are common in the region. and whose droppings are mistakenly assumed as caterpillars.
