Hakimi: Marry Your Mother, Then – Mr P

Nigerian Singer Mr P Sparks Controversy with Tweets About Trust in Marriage

In a series of tweets posted on his official Twitter page on Tuesday, Nigerian singer and songwriter Mr P, whose real name is Peter Okoye, called out men who support soccer star Achraf Hakimi, who allegedly put all his properties in his mother’s name to prevent his estranged wife from receiving anything after a potential divorce.

While some fans celebrated Hakimi’s move, Mr P’s tweets suggested the rapper was not in favour of the arrangement.

He argued that if a man doesn’t trust his wife, then he shouldn’t marry her in the first place, adding “Or are you expecting your wife to suffer after divorce?”

Mr P also went on to criticize those praising Hakimi for his actions, saying, “Even pesin wey no get up top 3k for account dey follow attack me for my tweet on Hakimi’s divorce 😂 E dey follow shout ‘MAN OF OF THE YEAR’ 😂🤣 Ndi ara🤣.”

In one of his tweets, the singer urged his followers who were in support of Hakimi to consider what it would be like if their mothers were treated the same way.

The tweets have sparked controversy online, with some supporting Mr P’s views and others defending Hakimi’s decision to protect his assets.

Mr P’s remarks have also elicited a response from some Twitter users who told him to marry his mother, to which he replied with a sarcastic comment:

“Make all of una go marry una Mama!… no time!😂 Since Hakimi sense wan ki una🤣😂🤣😂.”

It remains to be seen how this debate will play out in the long run, but Mr P’s tweets have certainly brought the issue of trust and marriage to the forefront of public debate.
