NNL: Kogi United Sacks Technical Adviser, Shola Adewuyi Over Poor Performance

Coach Shola Ibrahim Adewuyi, technical adviser for Kogi United FC Lokoja, has been fired by the team’s administration as a result of his allegedly poor performance in the current Nigeria National League campaign.

The club’s communications officer, Godwin Wambebe, delivered a statement to media outlets Wednesday that detailed Adewuyi’s dismissal.

In a letter dated May 1, 2023, the Club Chairman, Abdulmalik Isah, expressed gratitude for Coach Shola Ibrahim Adewuyi’s contributions to the Club and wished him luck in his future endeavors, according to Wambebe.

“In the meantime, Assistant Coach, Chidi Oji will take charge until a substantive Technical Adviser is appointed. He will be ably assisted by Goalkeeper Trainer Coach Abdulazeez Adeiza and Mohammed Yusuf” the statement added.

Also recall that Kogi United lost 1-0 to EFCC on Saturday at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
