Born Blind: Chidinma Ekile Reveals How She Regained her Sight After Being Born Blind

Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter Chidinma Ekile, also known as Miss Kedike, has shared her testimony of how she was born blind and later received her sight.

In a recent video posted on her YouTube channel, Chidinma narrated how her parents tried everything medically possible to make her see, but to no avail.

She said that her mother resorted to prayer and fasting as a last resort and made a vow to God to dedicate her back to Him if He could heal her blindness.

She said that God answered her mother’s prayers and she started to see.

“I came into this world blind actually, I didn’t open my eyes at all, it became a challenge, my parents did all they could to get this baby to see, all proved abortive.

“We had to turn to God, here is my mum, being a prayer warrior; she just started praying out of the blue, started fasting from nowhere. These were things my parents were not used to but they had to because of the situation. And eventually, I began to see.

“I remember that my mum, according to her, had promised to give me back to God, if God could help her solve that problem.”

Chidinma Ekile is a native of Imo State who was born in Ketu, Kosofe, Lagos State on 2 May 1991. She rose to fame in 2010 after winning the third season of Project Fame West Africa.

Also, she became the first female musician to peak at number 1 on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart with her single “Emi Ni Baller”. She released several hit songs such as “Jankoliko”, “Carry You Go”, “Kedike” and “Run Dia Mouth” under the label Capital Hill (former) .

In May 2021, Chidinma announced on Instagram that she had switched from secular music to gospel music and was now involved in Christian ministry.

She released her first gospel single, titled “Jehovah Overdo”, that same month under the label EeZee Conceptz – the same record label that signed Gospel superstar Mercy Chinwo. On 20 August 2021, Chidinma released her debut extended play New Season.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the EP was produced entirely by EeZee Tee and comprises seven tracks. Chidinma’s second studio album Psalm 16 was released on 14 October 2022. It features collaborations with KS Bloom, Indira, and Buchi .
