Security Man Kills, Butchers Boss For Taking Him To Court

A security guard, John Danjuma, has been arrested on 12 April, by the Rivers State Police Command for the murder of his former employer, Boma Amaomu-Jumbo.

Danjuma allegedly butchered the deceased at her residence in the GRA, Port Harcourt, on 9th May 2023.

The former Director of Admin in UPTH was murdered with a machete after the defendant quietly broke into her residence, gained entrance into the main house through the kitchen, and hid there to perfect his plan.

Danjuma then waited for the rainy weather on the said day to kill his former boss.

Danjuma had earlier been arraigned for allegedly stealing $10,000 from Amaomu-Jumbo, a case he denied.

He was granted bail, and the case was adjourned until Friday, 12th May 2023, before the heinous murder occurred.

After the killing, the accused stole the victim’s jewelry and attempted to leave the scene, but neighbors raised an alarm upon seeing bloodstains on his clothes.

This led to his arrest by the Rivers State Police Command.

While confessing to the crime, Danjuma claimed that Boma had accused him of stealing her money.

He further disclosed that the woman had been prosecuting him in court, and their pending legal matter was scheduled to come up for hearing the next day.

The matter has since been transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department, and the Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and arrest.

The gruesome murder has sent shockwaves across the community, with many speaking out against violence and vigilantism.
