Kwara State Govt Implements Three-Day Work Week for Public Workers

In response to the significant increase in transport fares, the Kwara State Government has implemented a temporary solution to alleviate the burden on public workers.

Today, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole, the State Head of Service, announced that Governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazak has instructed that the work week for employees be reduced from five days to three days.

Mrs Oluwole clarified that this measure aims to ease the hardship faced by state workers due to the removal of fuel subsidies by the Federal Government.

However, to implement this change, she instructed all Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the State to promptly devise a schedule indicating the alternating work days for each employee under their supervision.

While expressing the Governor’s generosity, the Head of Service cautioned employees against taking advantage of this arrangement.

In conclusion, she emphasized that her office would increase the monitoring of MDAs to ensure strict compliance with the new schedule.
