BREAKING: EFCC Calls Former Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika For Questioning

Hadi Sirika, the former minister of aviation, has been called in by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning about the Nigeria Air Scandal, which is currently roiling the nation.

Officials from Nigerian Air have already been questioned by anti-corruption authorities regarding the airline’s recent inauguration in Abuja.

Within the next week, the minister is expected to come before the committee to respond to inquiries about the founding of the airline, Nigerian Air, which is dressed in Ethiopian colors. The commission has previously questioned some alleged officials of the national carrier.

Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s spokesman, confirmed that an investigation was proceeding but was unable to provide more information.

He said, “I can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation in that regard,”

Although some stakeholders stated that over N80 billion was spent on the project, more than N3 billion was invested in it.

After the airline’s alleged inauguration in Abuja using an Ethiopian aircraft, problems for Sirika grew.

This week, the minister made an appearance on Arise TV and claimed that flying an Ethiopian plane was a “marketing strategy,” stirring up even more controversy and prompting calls from various Nigerians for his immediate detention and prosecution.
