Funke Akindele Advises Women Against Rushing into Marriage

Prestinegist reports that Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has urged women not to rush into marriage due to societal pressures.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo, Akindele stated her own experience and provided valuable advice to women.

She revealed during the interview that she had previously felt compelled to quickly settle down and have children due to external expectations.

However, her marriage ended after just a year. To overcome this challenging phase, she focused on her work as a distraction.

“I have never spoken about this before, but now I want to encourage women who feel pressured to get married. Take your time and remain calm because rushing into marriage can lead to regrets,” Akindele emphasized.

Recalling her journey, Akindele shared, “I simply wanted to get married and do things right, but my first marriage didn’t work out well. It ended badly, with the news spreading all over social media. I was devastated and even lost some opportunities. But I didn’t let it break me.”

Speaking directly to young women, Akindele advised against succumbing to societal expectations. “Don’t get married because of pressure. Get married because you genuinely love someone and want to spend your life with them.

“Similarly, have children because you genuinely want to experience the joy of raising a family, not because society labels you as ‘barren’ or comments on your marital status.”

Akindele encouraged women to ignore gossip and negative opinions, “Pay no attention to the naysayers. Your happiness matters the most. Follow your path,” she concluded.

By sharing her own story and offering empowering guidance, Funke Akindele inspires women to prioritize their well-being and make choices based on their genuine desires rather than external pressures.
