Fake Doctors Nabbed in Ogun State
A fake doctor, Abawulor Moses Omenka, was arrested in Ogun State by medical associations. He was caught at a job interview at Covenant University Hospital Ota on August 23, 2023.
The Nigerian Medical Association and the Association of Nigeria Private Medical Practitioners Ogun State chapters said Omenka submitted fake documents to claim he graduated from Benue State University.
NaomiSophy Blog reported that the fake documents had forged stamps and signatures. The secretary of ANPMP, Dr. Akin Oyejoko, provided the documents as evidence.
The police and ANPMP found out that Omenka was from Benue State and had worked as a caregiver in some medical facilities. He was in police custody for endangering lives with his quackery practice.
This was not the first case of quackery in Ogun State. ANPMP had earlier arrested and charged Afeez Adegoke, another fake doctor, but he was granted bail and continued to practice secretly. He had two hospitals in Iju Ota and Oke Ore.
