Abducted Nursing Mother Found Dead In Kwara After Paying Ransom

Kehinde Jibril, a nursing mother who was allegedly kidnapped in Ago-Oja town, Asa Local Government Area, Kwara State, has been found dead and rotting.

The body was reportedly discovered on Thursday on Ojoku Road in the Ago-Oja area following frantic searches to find and free her from her captors.

Since then, Kehinde had been buried at Ago-Oja using Islamic customs.

Oriyomi Babatunde, who was kidnapped in the same town as Kehinde and also sustained injuries in the process, later passed away in the hospital.

A portion of the ransom requested by the kidnappers was paid by the deceased’s relatives, according to The PUNCH.

In a telephone interview, Daudu Arolu, the traditional leader of Ago-Oja, verified the discovery of the body and burial of Kehinde.

According to sources close to the deceased’s family, the latest portion of the N6 million ransom requested by the kidnappers was purportedly delivered before the body of the nursing mother was found.

The family of the deceased was reportedly told by the kidnappers last Friday to deliver the ransom for her release to Eiyekonrin town, an Ilorin suburb, and afterwards to Ogbomoso in Oyo State, but they could not be found.

Two days before the Eid ul-Fitr celebrations at her husband’s house in Ago-Oja, Kehinde was kidnapped.

Her husband, who was allegedly a livestock broker, was the first target of the kidnappers, but they instead grabbed the wife because the husband was not at home when the kidnappers came calling.
