Al-Kadriyah sisters freed after harrowing ordeal with kidnappers

The four surviving daughters of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah, who was murdered by her abductors, have finally returned to their home in Abuja after being held hostage for weeks.

The sisters, who are students of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, were kidnapped along with their father in early January by a gang of bandits who demanded a huge ransom for their release.

The family was unable to meet the deadline and the kidnappers killed Nabeeha, the eldest sister, and increased the ransom from N60 million to N100 million. They also threatened to kill the remaining sisters if the money was not paid.

However, the family managed to raise the ransom and secured the release of the girls late Saturday night, with the help of security operatives who escorted them to their residence.

The uncle of the girls, Sherifdeen Al-Kadriyah, confirmed the news to Daily Trust on Sunday morning. He said the girls were in good health and spirits, despite their traumatic experience.

The family also issued a statement expressing their gratitude to Allah and the Nigerians who supported and prayed for them during their ordeal.

They also paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the process, including their father and sister, and prayed for their souls and their families.

They praised the courage and resilience of their daughters, who they said inspired them with their bravery. They asked Allah to bless and protect them and grant them emotional healing and strength.
