Anambra Pastor Kills Self After Lover Jilted Him

 

Pastor Igboke, 30, killed himself in Nnewi, Anambra State. He jumped from a two-storey building after his lover rejected him. He had sponsored her education at the university.

 

A relative told journalists that Igboke was from Leru, Abia State. He was a Pentecostal Church pastor (name withheld). He wanted to marry his girlfriend, but she disappointed him.

 

The relative said the incident happened last month. He expressed shock that Igboke could do such a thing.

 

Igboke’s body was buried in a forest on Friday. His community considered his death a sacrilege.

 

The state police spokesman, DSP Ikenga, said he was not aware of the incident. He thanked the journalists for the information and promised to take action.
