Argentina’s goalkeeper now the “most hated footballer in the world”

Argentina’s goalkeeper

Argentina’s goalkeeper Argentina’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez may have earned himself an unwanted record for his conduct during and after the world cup in Qatar.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper is the focus of an official complaint from the French FA for his actions in the wake of Argentina’s World Cup triumph over France.

The golden glove winner has been reported to have consistently mocked French skipper Kylian Mbappe during the celebrations in Buenos Aires, where he was spotted carrying around a doll with Mbappe’s face. The goalkeeper was also reported to have demanded a mock minute of silence in the dressing room shortly after the final celebrations in Qatar.

His actions have, however, not gone unnoticed by French star Adil Rami who branded the goalkeeper as the ‘most hated man in football’. President of the French FA, Noel Le Graet, has written a formal letter of complaint to his Argentina compatriot Claudio Tapia to vent his frustration on the issue.
