Bandits Attack Federal University, Kidnap Students, Army Rescues Six

A group of bandits armed with deadly weapons invaded Sabon Gida village in Kaduna State and kidnapped an unspecified number of students from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, on Friday morning. The attack occurred around 2 a.m. when the students were asleep in their hostels.

The Nigerian Army swiftly responded to the incident and launched a rescue operation. According to a statement by the army spokesperson, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, six of the abducted students have been rescued and reunited with their families. He said the troops are still combing the area to locate and free the remaining captives.

The motive behind the attack is still unknown, but it is suspected to be part of a series of kidnappings for ransom that have plagued the country in recent months. Several schools and institutions have been targeted by bandits who demand huge sums of money for the release of their victims. The federal and state governments have condemned the attacks and vowed to end the insecurity in the country.
