Bella Shmurda Demands Justice for Mohbad, Accuses Marlians Music of Murder

Nigerian singer and songwriter Bella Shmurda has broken his silence on the death of his close friend and fellow artist Mohbad, who died on September 12th, 2023, after being allegedly tortured by members of Marlians Music, a record label owned by Naira Marley.

In a series of posts on his verified Instagram account, Bella Shmurda claimed that Mohbad’s spirit has been haunting him and urging him to seek justice for his murder. He said that Mohbad had filed several petitions against Marlians Music for their maltreatment and malicious acts towards him, but the Nigerian police did not take any action until it was too late.

Bella Shmurda also revealed that he had visited Mohbad in Nigeria before he left for Canada to see his family and start his tour. He said that he was not mentally in shape to perform anymore and that he would return to Nigeria soon to confront the culprits. He warned Samlarry and other members of Marlians Music to either surrender to the police or face the wrath of the street.

Also, he appealed to Seyi Tinubu, the son of former Lagos State governor Bola Tinubu and a prominent youth leader, to intervene in the matter and ensure that justice is served. He said that he did not care about the tributes and royalties that Marlians Music might release for Mohbad, as long as they are held accountable for their crimes.

He concluded his posts with a hashtag #justiceformohbad and a vow to avenge his friend’s death. Also, he said that he would not rest until the killers are brought to justice, whether by legal or illegal means. He said that Mohbad was a talented artist who made people happy with his music, even when he was in pain and fear, and that he deserved respect and honor.
